In a recent news update, it was reported that Gencor’s Trigogen supports metabolic health and maintains fasting and postprandial glucose levels. This news was published in the multimedia publishing brand, Nutritional Outlook.
The launch of this product took place in March this year at the Natural Products Expo West held in Anaheim, CA. Trigogen is the extract of fenugreek seed, which contains the plant alkaloid compound trigonelline. According to a press release by the company, Trigogen’s benefits have been ascertained in a preclinical trial.
The study was a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial that included 48 adults with some degree of impaired glucose metabolism. During the 12-week study period, the participants were divided into two groups, one receiving 250 mg of Trigogen twice daily and the other a placebo. Based on the results, it was evident that Trigogen shows significant improvement in fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial glucose response, and triglycerides in these participants. It also showed better outcomes in the oxidative status of the ß-cells (responsible for insulin production) of the pancreas due to the attenuated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress. To conclude, this study showed the insulin-sensitizing effect of Trigogen in adults.
