Mushroom ingredients supplier, Sempera Organics has teamed up with analytical testing laboratory, Alkemist Labs to collaborate on the development of testing protocols for bioactive ingredients derived from fungi. The objective of this partnership is to enhance and create testing methods for these ingredients, establishing benchmarks for assessing their quality, purity, and identity. Sempera will also participate in the Alkemist Assured program to ensure transparency in the supply chain.
The chief mycologist at Sempera Organics emphasized the necessity for improved testing of mushroom bioactives, citing the existing methods as often unreliable or unavailable. Sempera aims to work closely with Alkemist Labs to accurately identify and quantify beneficial compounds, enabling the production of standardized ingredients and fostering further research.
