A recent survey has revealed that one in three consumers have started taking measures to age healthily from the age of 30 and above. This survey was published in the journal, Nutrition Insight.
Since the UN declared the time from 2021 to 2030 as “The Decade of Healthy Aging,” there has been a spurt in the demand for products aimed at healthy aging. These products are formulated with the aim of making the aging population independent and healthy in order to lessen the burden of future healthcare costs on society. Health solutions that offer joint health support are popular among all ages as they prolong long-term health and sustain mobility.
There is an inclination among consumers towards scientifically backed natural and sustainable ingredients. Kaneka Nutrient’s Ubiquinol contains a biologically active form of coenzyme Q10, making it ideal for use in formulations. Ubiquinol’s antioxidant-free radical activity protects the body’s cells from aging. Similarly, Nutiani by Fonterra has come up with whey proteins and fast-absorbing milk proteins that have a positive effect on bone mineral density and lower the risk of hip fractures.
Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredients contain undenaturated type-II collagen that improves joint flexibility and reduces joint discomfort. It also helps preserve bioactive binding sites on the collagen triple helix, called epitopes, which are responsible for building new cartilage joints. Hence, these holistic ingredients are part of the new anti-aging products that are being made available to supplement consumers.
