Canadian company Fruit d’Or is ready to unveil its latest offerings at the 2023 IFT FIRST Food Expo in Chicago, showcasing their expertise in organic cranberry and wild blueberry ingredients. One of the highlights will be the introduction of “blueflakes” and “cranflakes,” crunchy flakes made solely from fruit that can enhance a variety of food products such as confectionery, granola, and energy bars. These organic flakes retain the natural benefits and polyphenols of the berries, and importantly, contain no added sugar.
In addition to the flakes, Fruit d’Or will also feature “unsweetened and soft gems,” cranberries infused with soluble fiber. These gems prove to be a versatile ingredient, suitable for use in trail mixes, bakery products, cereals, and snacks. Not only do they contribute moisture and a soft texture to the final product, but they also enhance the fruit’s fiber content.
Furthermore, Fruit d’Or will present cranberry and wild blueberry 100%-fruit powders, perfectly suited for dairy, energy bars, bakery items, smoothies, and confectionery products. These powders boast a rich concentration of polyphenols and anthocyanins, without any added sugar, preservatives, flavors, additives, or fillers. Remarkably concentrated, a pound of powder requires 37 pounds of cranberries.
Fruit d’Or will unveil sustainably sourced cranberry seeds and dry seed extracts, which are obtained through an upcycling process from their cranberry production. These crunchy red seeds offer an abundance of protein, fiber, omega-3, and omega-6 fatty acids. With an organic and clean-label certification, they can be seamlessly incorporated into energy bars, bakery goods, confectionery, and cereal products.
