A recent news report states that bone health is currently influenced by the digital mindset, with a focus on plant-based, traditional holistic ingredients that are preventative and offer multiple health benefits. The news was published in the leading international publisher, Nutrition Insight.
More and more consumers are citing joint health as the top reason for opting for healthy lifestyle products. Products fortified with vitamin D and calcium, along with key botanical ingredients such as curcumin, offer a potent solution for joints, bones, and muscles. Non-GMO, plant-based products offer additional joint support over other joint-health solutions. Micronutrients, omega-3 fatty acids, and traditional ingredients (Boswellia, turmeric, and ginger) are known to improve the bone-gut connection as well as overall health.
A randomized, placebo-controlled trial was conducted among 105 overweight men and women experiencing knee discomfort due to physical activities. The clinical trial showed that AyuFlex, an ayurvedic product, when taken twice daily for 12 weeks showed marked improvement in knee pain, mobility, and function while boosting overall joint health compared to the placebo. These supplements are mostly available in tablet and pill format in the bone health category. They are also being developed in other forms such as gummies, beverages, chewable, dairy products, chocolates, and baked goods for future consumption.
