The Germany-based company, Gelita has achieved a breakthrough in the field of fortified gummy production by coming up with starch-free gummies. Named “Confixx”, this novel gelatin brand has made it easier for gummy manufacturers to work with various active ingredients (collagen peptides, vitamins, melatonin, minerals) in a simplified production process without compromising on texture. It offers efficiency gains over the starch-based manufacturing process as it enables cost savings and eliminates gummy drying steps. This reduces the production time from two days to a few hours only.
Confixx follows GMP compliance production of fortified gummies, making it free from cross-contamination and ideal for small batch production. This helps in greater flexibility for product changes while maintaining ingredient dosage. These features help gummy developers find greater freedom to innovate because of lesser manufacturing limitations. This leaves the market for functional and fortified fruit gummies with more growth prospects and exciting new innovations.
