Ayana Bio has developed non-GMO plant powders using plant cell technology to tackle the supply chain problems of lemon balm and echinacea, which are traditionally grown in agriculture. According to the company, each production batch is genetically identical to plants grown in soil. The plant cell-derived ingredients have standardised phytocomplex, increased bioavailability, full traceability, neutral taste, and color. According to Ayana Bio’s statement, the resulting alternatives are different from compounds synthesized from microbes, which produce only single molecules found in plants and not the full range of bioactives.

Ayana Bio’s non-GMO plant powders use plant cell cultivation technology to create uniform batches that are the same as plants grown traditionally in soil. The resulting ingredients have a standardised phytocomplex, are DNA-fingerprint certified and have full traceability. Additionally, they offer increased bioavailability, a neutral taste and color. In contrast to synthesizing compounds from microbes, Ayana Bio’s technology produces the full spectrum of bioactives found in plants.
