A new study highlights the powerful health benefits of combining high-intensity intermittent training (HIIT) with Asparagus officinalis extract in overweight and obese individuals. Over 12 weeks, participants who followed the HIIT program and took the plant-based supplement—rich in 20-hydroxyecdysone—experienced significantly improved heart rate variability, stronger respiratory muscles, better lung function, greater chest expansion, and a lower waist-to-hip ratio compared to those who exercised or supplemented alone. While HIIT alone delivered some gains, the addition of the asparagus extract amplified the effects, pointing to a promising, natural approach to boosting cardio-pulmonary health in those struggling with weight.
