This 12‑week randomized, double‑blind, placebo‑controlled trial found that adding a citrus bioflavonoid nutraceutical to metformin therapy in prediabetic individuals improved metabolic and clinical outcomes compared to metformin alone. The supplement group showed better postprandial glucose control, preserved GLP‑1 levels, reduced insulin resistance, lower TNF‑α, enhanced antioxidant capacity, modest reductions in body weight, fat mass, and BMI, and a 4% drop in systolic blood pressure. These results suggest citrus flavonoids are a safe and effective adjunct to metformin, offering benefits in glycemia, inflammation, oxidative stress, and cardiometabolic health, with potential to slow disease progression
