A recent study has highlighted the remarkable synergy between two proprietary ingredients, Bimuno® GOS and Probi Defendum®, showcasing a significant increase in the production of lactate and butyrate, key compounds beneficial for health. This comes amidst a burgeoning interest in health and nutrition, with consumers increasingly seeking ways to bolster their digestive, immune, and overall well-being, notably through synbiotic supplements which have eclipsed pure probiotics in online consumer engagement and are projected to maintain a robust growth trajectory. The study’s findings underscore the superior advantages of combining Clasado’s Bimuno GOS with Probi’s immune-strengthening concept, Probi Defendum, as probiotic strains effectively utilize Bimuno GOS, leading to heightened levels of health-promoting compounds. Additionally, the study revealed a complementary synbiotic relationship between Bimuno GOS and Probi Digestis®, where both ingredients exert their individual health benefits synergistically, emphasizing the greater efficacy of probiotics and prebiotics in combination compared to standalone use. The combination increased lactate levels and short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) butyrate by 26% when combining Bimuno GOS with Probi Defendum. Moreover, the researchers found increased Bifidobacteria bacteria associated with gastrointestinal and immune health support.
