A recent study found that CoQ10 phytosomes, marketed by Indena as Ubiqsome, improve cellular uniquinone uptake in skeletal muscle cells. The study highlights the efficacy of Indena’s CoQ10 phytosomes, marketed as Ubiqsome. The crossover design study, involving eight volunteers, compared the cellular uptake of 100 mg per day of CoQ10 in phytosome and crystalline forms. While both showed equivalent plasma bioavailability in vivo, phytosome-enriched lipoproteins demonstrated higher bioavailability in vitro, suggesting an advantage in delivering CoQ10 to skin and muscle tissues. This research strengthens the evidence supporting Ubiqsome’s potential to enhance CoQ10 bioavailability and endothelial function, making it a reliable ingredient for traditional CoQ10 applications.
