Recent research delving into the effects of short-term Chlorella supplementation on exercise performance reveals promising outcomes for fitness enthusiasts. In a study involving healthy young adults, ingestion of 6 grams of Chlorella daily for just two days resulted in significantly lower blood lactate levels during both submaximal and maximal exercise, potentially delaying fatigue onset. Additionally, an increase in O2 pulse was observed, indicating enhanced oxygen delivery efficiency to muscles. While Chlorella supplementation did not lead to improvements in maximal oxygen consumption (V˙O2max), these findings suggest its potential as a natural ergogenic aid for optimizing exercise performance in a short timeframe.
