Functional dyspepsia, a condition marked by bloating, nausea, and abdominal discomfort, affects millions worldwide. While drugs like Pantoprazole are commonly prescribed, their side effects push many toward herbal alternatives. A clinical study at AIIMS Bhubaneswar tested a poly-herbal formulation (PHF), sold under names like Dizester® Herbal, against Pantoprazole in 80 patients. Using standardized questionnaires, researchers measured improvements in reflux and digestive symptoms, while also evaluating safety through organ function and blood tests.
Results showed PHF provided similar relief to Pantoprazole, significantly reducing chest and stomach burning, acid reflux, and nausea. Pain scores dropped by over 70% in the PHF group, closely matching Pantoprazole’s effectiveness, but without any adverse impact on liver, kidney, or blood health. These findings present PHF as a safe and effective natural option for those seeking alternatives to conventional drug therapy for functional dyspepsia.
