Raising Potassium Lowers Arrhythmia Risk

In high-risk heart patients with ICDs, increasing potassium to high-normal levels (4.5–5.0 mmol/L) significantly reduced ventricular arrhythmias, hospitalizations, and death compared to standard care. Safety outcomes were similar. Maintaining higher potassium improved cardiovascular outcomes.
