A Gentle Fiber for Gut Comfort and Mood

A recent double-blind, placebo-controlled trial tested partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG) in healthy adults over eight weeks. Participants who took PHGG showed reduced levels of harmful mucolytic gut bacteria, more frequent and satisfying bowel movements, and at the higher dose better sleep and motivation.
Briefly: PHGG appears to ease mild constipation, shift the gut microbiome toward healthier bacteria, and may modestly improve sleep and motivation in healthy people.
