Sprouting black chickpeas boosts their nutraceutical profile by increasing isoflavones such as formononetin and biochanin A. Extracts from sprouted seeds showed markedly higher cellular antioxidant activity and inhibited growth of aggressive breast cancer cells, causing features of cell death. These results position sprouted black chickpeas as a promising value‑added ingredient for functional foods.
