This pilot study assessed and compared the effects of two 0.5% bakuchiol formulations—an oil-based cream and a liposome‑encapsulated cream—on facial skin quality over 28 days. Seventeen participants aged 25–45 applied the creams in a split‑face design (one formula on each side) twice daily. Skin parameters including moisture, pore size, sebum levels, and wrinkle depth were measured at baseline, day 14, and day 28 using the A‑One Tab Skin Analyzer. Both formulations improved hydration, reduced pore size, and lessened wrinkles. However, the encapsulated bakuchiol cream demonstrated superior effectiveness, yielding greater reductions in pore size, sebum production, and wrinkle scores, indicating enhanced delivery and efficacy through encapsulation technology.
