A new clinical study from Italian researchers has demonstrated that a botanical-based oral supplement containing Venerinase a patented blend of Rhodiola rosea, Tribulus terrestris, Moringa oleifera, and Undaria pinnatifida combined with folic acid, B vitamins, zinc, and magnesium, may offer significant anti-aging and anti-inflammatory benefits for the skin. In a randomized, single-blind trial involving 40 women aged 40–60 with mild to moderate photoaging, daily supplementation over four months led to a statistically significant improvement in the Griffith aging score (from 4.5 to 3.76, p < 0.001), along with a reduction in facial redness and a borderline significant decrease in wrinkle count, as measured by VISIA 2D imaging. Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) revealed borderline significant changes in collagen density and signs of stromal remodeling, indicating potential dermal regeneration and reduced inflammation. Moreover, the supplement group maintained stable porphyrin levels, suggesting possible skin microbiome support. These results support the blend’s antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and mitochondrial-protective effects.
