A small human trial tested whether rapidly absorbed boron affects steroid hormones and inflammation after single-dose and short-term use. Healthy men took a boron capsule once and then daily for several days; plasma boron rose within hours and stayed elevated.
Within hours, SHBG, hsCRP and TNF-α fell. After the supplementation period, free testosterone rose while estradiol fell; dihydrotestosterone, cortisol and vitamin D showed modest increases and overall inflammatory markers declined. This first human report linking short-term boron intake to increased free testosterone suggests potential endocrine and anti-inflammatory effects worth further study
