Pea Protein as Effective as Whey for Muscle Growth, Study Shows

A recent 12‑week trial in 161 young men found that pea protein (NUTRALYS®) increased biceps thickness as much as whey protein, with no clear advantage for either. All groups gained muscle, but weaker individuals had the largest gains with pea protein. Strength improved with training, but no group differed significantly.
In practice, pea protein is an effective, plant‑based alternative to whey for muscle support, especially for beginners or those choosing vegetarian/vegan options.
