A randomized, double-blind clinical study compared the effects of a plant-based dietary supplement (PB-Blend, 50 mg) with Vitamin C (1000 mg) in 28 individuals recovering from moderate COVID-19 infection. PB-Blend significantly reduced oxidative stress by inhibiting mitochondrial ROS (−56%), iNOS (−60%), and NOX2-derived ROS (−49%), while Vitamin C only reduced NOX2 activity (−45%). Unlike Vitamin C, PB-Blend increased circulating nitric oxide (NOHb) levels by 33%, supporting vascular and immune function. Both interventions reduced TNFα-induced ROS generation. These findings suggest PB-Blend offers broader antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-supportive benefits than Vitamin C, highlighting its potential in post-viral recovery and seasonal immune health.
