This network meta-analysis of 163 RCTs (15,757 participants) evaluated 137 nutraceutical/phytoceutical interventions for major depressive disorder. EPA, vitamin D3, and St. John’s wort showed significant reductions in depressive symptoms, while curcumin improved anxiety symptoms. Despite these findings, high heterogeneity and low-to-very-low certainty of evidence limit clinical conclusions and highlight the need for larger, high-quality RCTs.
