South Korea’s MFDS is proposing stricter GMP controls and labeling requirements for customized health functional foods, including GMP requirements for reprocessing activities. In India, FSSAI has reiterated that NMN remains an unapproved ingredient for use in food supplements, issuing a notice against products containing NMN. Meanwhile, China’s SAMR has proposed new rules for probiotic health foods, including higher minimum CFU levels through shelf life and mandatory specification of probiotic strains, functionality and genetic stability to strengthen traceability and quality control.
