This study evaluated curcuminoid extract derived from Curcuma longa for its effectiveness in managing vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes in postmenopausal women through a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical design. Curcuminoids, primarily curcumin, are known for their strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In this study, supplementation helped reduce the frequency and severity of vasomotor symptoms and improved overall quality of life measures compared to placebo. The effects are linked to the ability of curcuminoids to modulate inflammatory pathways, reduce oxidative stress, and influence neuroendocrine signaling involved in thermoregulation, which plays a key role in hot flash occurrence. Additionally, curcuminoids may support vascular stability and cellular signaling balance, contributing to symptom relief. The study indicates that curcuminoid extract is a safe and potentially effective natural intervention for alleviating menopausal vasomotor symptoms, supporting its application in nutraceutical and women’s health formulations.
